Close and strap the canopy when the umbrella is not in use, and fold it neatly so the fabric does not rub in the same place every time. Rinse with clean water and a soft brush, and avoid harsh chemicals and bleach. Wipe the frame with a damp cloth and a mild detergent, and store the umbrella closed and covered over winter or in extended bad weather.
