Nardi Folio Range
Folio is Nardi's outdoor lounge chair, made in three actions from one resin shell: a fixed armchair, a reclining armchair and a rocking chair. It is a range for sitting still in rather than eating at.
Cushions and a separate headrest cushion are made for it, along with the Poggio footrest and a 4 piece lounge setting. Talk to our team about the space you have, because a recliner and a rocker both need clearance behind them that a fixed chair does not. All three versions weather identically because they share one shell, so a mixed group still reads as a single scheme on the terrace.

Nardi Folio Range - FAQs

-
What are the three Folio versions?
Folio is made in three actions from one resin shell: a fixed armchair, a reclining armchair and a rocking chair. Because all three share the same shell they weather identically and sit together as a single scheme, even though they move differently. Each is available with or without cushions. Alongside them the shelf carries the Folio cushion, a separate headrest cushion, the Poggio footrest stool and a 4 piece lounge setting for a complete corner.

What is the difference between the reclining and the rocking Folio?
The reclining chair holds a set position, so it suits reading, a laptop or a long conversation where you want to settle and stay put. The rocking chair never settles, which is the entire point of it, and it belongs on a verandah or in a quiet corner rather than at a dining terrace. The fixed armchair is the one to choose where chairs get moved and rearranged regularly, because neither action gets in the way when you are shifting furniture.
-
Are cushions included with Folio?
It depends on the version you order. Folio chairs are sold both with and without cushions, so check the listing rather than assuming. The reclining armchair is normally offered with cushions, and the fixed armchair and rocking chair are available either way. The shell itself is comfortable enough for short sittings without a cushion, but for anywhere people will sit for a long stretch the cushion makes a real difference, and it is what turns the chair into a lounge piece.
-
What is the Folio headrest cushion?
The headrest cushion is a separate piece from the seat cushion and it is the one that changes how the chair is used. Without it the chair supports your back. With it the chair supports your head as well, which is the difference between sitting and properly reclining. On the reclining and rocking versions it is worth adding, because those two are the chairs people fall asleep in. It is ordered separately rather than being included with the seat cushion.
-
How much clearance does a Folio recliner or rocker need?
Both need clearance behind them, and this is the thing most often forgotten on a narrow balcony. A reclining chair moves backwards as the back goes down, and a rocking chair needs continuous room behind through its whole arc. Measure the swing rather than the footprint of the chair standing still, and check what is behind the chair, since a wall, a planter or a balustrade will stop the action before the chair reaches its comfortable position.

Can I order Folio chairs in quantity for a hotel or resort?
Yes. Outdoor Furniture Ideas supplies Folio to hotels, resorts and body corporates furnishing lounge areas, balconies and quiet corners. Trade accounts are available with volume pricing. Because Folio is usually bought with cushions, our team will confirm cushion colour continuity across the whole quantity before an order goes in, and can quote the chairs, headrest cushions and Poggio footrests together rather than as separate lines.
