10+ Seater Outdoor Dining Tables
An outdoor table that seats ten or more is almost always the wrong table for a Tuesday. That is why nearly everything in this range extends: you keep a normal sized table most of the year and open it out when you actually have the people.
The extendable options, all Nardi unless noted:
- Rio 210 to 280cm, in resin or aluminium, the largest extension in the range.
- Rio 140 to 210cm, in resin or aluminium, for a space that cannot take the larger table at full extension.
- Alloro 210 to 280cm and Alloro 140 to 210cm.
- Tevere 210 and Tevere 147, both aluminium extendable.
- Oval 250 to 310cm, an oval extendable table where the shape softens a long run of seating.
One fixed table is stocked, the Rio Aluminium 210 Fix, for a permanent outdoor dining area where the table never needs to shrink.
Measure the clearance, not the table. A 280cm table needs roughly 90cm of clear space on every side for chairs to pull out and for someone to walk behind a seated guest, so the real footprint of a ten seater is closer to 460cm long than 280cm. Check that at full extension before you choose, because a table you cannot walk around is a table nobody enjoys.
Resin holds colour and needs no maintenance. Aluminium is lighter and gives a more contemporary line. Both handle Australian sun and rain without the annual oiling a timber table asks for.

What is a 10 plus seater outdoor table?
It is a long outdoor dining table, usually extendable, that seats ten or more people when it is fully open. This is the table for a household that hosts, or a venue that needs one long table rather than several small ones. Nearly all of them extend, so the table you live with day to day is shorter than the table you seat twelve at.

Which of these tables actually seat ten or more?
Only at full extension, and not all of them. The Nardi Rio 210 goes from 210cm seating up to eight out to 280cm seating ten to twelve, the Alloro 210 to 280cm reaches twelve, and the Tevere 210 goes from 211cm seating eight to 275cm seating ten. The smaller models in this range, the Rio 140 and the Alloro 140, run 140cm seating up to six out to 210cm seating up to eight, so they do not reach ten. How does an extendable outdoor table work?
On the Nardi tables the extension leaf is integrated, so you pull the top apart and the extra section lifts into place. There is no separate leaf to find a home for in a shed, which is the usual weak point of an extendable table. It takes seconds and one person. Make sure you have room for the extended length plus chairs before you order.

Resin or aluminium?
The Rio comes both ways and that is the clearest comparison in the range. The resin version has a weatherproof polypropylene top on a powder coated aluminium frame and is lighter and easier to move. The Rio Alu is the aluminium version, which is heavier and more solid and reads as a more substantial table. The Tevere is aluminium and part of Nardi's Regeneration range, which uses regenerated material.

What is a Fix table?
Fix means it does not extend. The Rio Alu 210 Fix is a fixed 210cm table, so it seats up to eight and stays that size. A fixed table has no moving joint in the middle, which makes it simpler and more rigid. Choose Fix if you will always want the same length, and extendable if you need a shorter table most of the time.

What colours are available?
Anthracite, Tortora and White across the Rio and Rio Alu, with Corda and Terra added on the Tevere, and a two tone White and Tortora finish on the Alloro. The oval ceramic topped table comes in Charcoal, White and Pebble. On the Nardi resin tables the colour goes through the material rather than sitting on top as a coating.

Can a large outdoor table be left out all year, and should I cover it?
Yes. These tables are built for permanent outdoor use: UV stabilised tops and powder coated aluminium frames, so nothing rusts, rots or needs oiling. Wipe them down with warm water and a mild detergent. A cover is worth it on a large table simply because of the surface area collecting leaves, dust and bird mess, not because the table needs protecting from weather.
