Piave Range
The Nardi Piave range is a table family built around a single design in several sizes, so a courtyard, a balcony and a function terrace can all be furnished without the tables looking like they came from different places.
Seven table sizes are stocked:
- Square: 70cm, 80cm and 90cm. The 70cm suits two, the 90cm comfortably seats four.
- Rectangular: 120 x 70cm, 140 x 80cm and 160 x 90cm, for longer runs and larger groups.
- Bar height: the Piave 70cm square high bar table.
Beyond the tables themselves, the range is sold as complete settings, which is usually the better buy because the chair is already matched to the table height and proportion:
- Piave with Cassia armchairs, in 5, 7 and 9 piece settings.
- Piave with Cassia Bistrot chairs, in 5, 7 and 9 piece settings.
- Piave 70 bar table settings, 5 piece, with a choice of Cassia, Net, Trill or Doga bar stools.
- Piave compact laminate table with Aero armchairs, a 7 piece setting.
The compact laminate option is worth understanding. Standard Piave tops are resin. Compact laminate is a denser, heavier board with a different surface feel and a harder wearing face, and it is the one to choose for a table that will live outdoors permanently in a high traffic spot.
Size the table to the space rather than the guest list. Allow roughly 60cm of table edge per person and around 75cm behind each chair for someone to push back and stand, otherwise a nine piece setting that fits on paper will not work in practice.

What is the Nardi Piave range?
Piave is Nardi's contract table system, designed for Nardi by Raffaello Galiotto. Each table pairs a slim 6mm Materia HPL laminate top, with softly rounded corners, on a powder coated aluminium frame. It was built for cafes, restaurants and venues first, which is why it also works well at home: the tops shrug off scratches, heat, rain and UV and simply wipe clean, with no sealing or oiling.

What sizes does the Piave table come in?
Square tops at 70cm, 80cm and 90cm, and rectangular tops at 120 x 70cm, 140 x 80cm and 160 x 90cm. There is also a 70cm square version at bar height. The square tops suit two to four seats and the rectangles four to six, so pick the size from your seat count and then check the walkway you have left around it.

What colours is Piave available in?
Anthracite, Corda, Tortora and Tobacco. The Materia top has a fine embossed texture that resists fingerprints and marks, and it is finished tone on tone with the legs, so the table reads as one colour rather than a top sitting on a contrasting frame.

What is the difference between the Piave dining table and the Piave 70 High?
Height. The dining tables stand at a standard 76cm and the Piave 70 High is a bar table at 107cm. That is the only decision you need to get right, because a bar table needs bar stools and a dining table needs dining chairs. In this range the Piave 70 High is offered in five piece sets with Cassia, Net, Trill and Doga bar stools, which takes the guesswork out of matching heights.

Can I buy the Piave as a complete set?
Yes. The Piave tables are sold in five, seven and nine piece dining settings with the Nardi Cassia armchair and the Cassia Bistrot chair, in five piece bar settings with Cassia, Net, Trill and Doga bar stools, and in a seven piece setting with Aero armchairs. Buying the set is the simplest way to be sure the chair height, the table height and the colours all work together.

Can the top be replaced without replacing the whole table?
Yes, and it is a genuine advantage of this range. A flush press fit fixing holds the top with no visible screws, and the top can be taken off and replaced without changing the frame. That means a marked top after a few years of hard use is a part replacement rather than a new table, and it also lets you change colour later.

Is Piave suitable to leave outside all year?
Yes. The HPL top handles rain, heat and UV and the aluminium frame will not rust, and adjustable feet keep the table level on uneven paving or decking. Wipe it down with warm water and a mild detergent. In a very exposed position, or over a long unused period, a cover will keep grime and tree debris off, but the table itself does not need to come inside.
