Nardi Alfa and Omega Sun Loungers

Alfa and Omega are Nardi's resin sun loungers, both designed by Raffaello Galiotto and both built on a UV treated frame with a breathable synthetic sling. They recline through four positions and carry two built in wheels so they roll to follow the shade.

The only real difference between them is arms: Alfa has them, Omega does not. Slings are fully replaceable on both. Talk to our team about how many loungers the deck takes and we will confirm colour and sling stock. Both models suit permanent poolside use, so they stay out through summer and winter and simply wipe clean at the end of a week.

Alfa & Omega Range - FAQs

  1. What is the difference between the Alfa and the Omega sun lounger?
Both are resin sun loungers designed for Nardi by Raffaello Galiotto, and they share a frame, a sling and a recline mechanism. The difference is arms. Alfa has armrests, which make getting in and out easier and matter for older guests or anyone using the lounger as a chair as much as a bed. Omega is armless, so its cleaner profile tucks closer to a pool edge, sits tighter in a row and stacks more compactly for storage.
  2. How far do they recline, and can they be moved easily?
Both models recline through four positions, from sitting upright to read through to lying completely flat, and the position is set by hand at the back of the lounger. Both also carry two built in wheels at one end. Tilt the lounger onto the wheels and it rolls, so following the shade around a pool through an afternoon does not involve lifting anything. That matters more than it sounds on a deck where loungers get repositioned several times a day.
  3. What colours are available?
Alfa and Omega are offered in White, Anthracite Trama, Tortora and Grigio. Anthracite Trama is a textured finish rather than a flat colour, so it reads differently in strong sun to the plain shades. When choosing, match the lounger to the paving or the deck rather than to the house, since that is what it will sit against for its whole life. Confirm availability across the full quantity before ordering if you are buying more than a pair.
  4. Can the sling be replaced?
Yes, and it is worth knowing at the point of purchase. The breathable synthetic sling is fully replaceable on both models, which means a tired lounger is a sling swap rather than a new lounger. For a hotel or a caravan park that changes the economics of a pool deck considerably, because the frames stay and only the fabric is renewed. Replacement slings for both Alfa and Omega are stocked on this shelf alongside the loungers themselves.
  5. Can they stay outside, and how do they store?
Both are built for permanent outdoor use, so they stay out year round and simply wipe clean with water and mild detergent. Chlorine, salt and sun are not the problem. Sunscreen and body oils are what mark a sling, so a rinse at the end of a hot week is worth doing. If loungers are stored over winter, Omega stacks in noticeably less space than Alfa because it has no arms, which is worth allowing for when working out shed capacity.
  6. Can I order them in quantity for a pool deck?
Yes. Outdoor Furniture Ideas supplies Alfa and Omega to hotels, resorts, caravan parks, gyms and body corporates, where loungers live outside all year and get hard use. They are available singly and in sets of two and four, and in 3 piece settings that add a side table. Trade accounts are available with volume pricing, and our team can confirm both lounger and replacement sling stock before a season starts.

Alfa and Omega Sun Loungers

Alfa and Omega are Nardi's resin sun loungers, both designed by Raffaello Galiotto and both built on the same idea: a lounger that lives outside permanently and needs nothing done to it.

They share a frame, a sling and a mechanism. The only real difference between them is arms.

  • Alfa, the version with armrests
  • Omega, the armless version, which tucks closer and stacks tighter
  • Both in White, Anthracite Trama, Tortora and Grigio, singly and in sets of two and four
  • Replacement slings for both, and three piece sun lounge settings

UV Treated Resin and a Breathable Sling

The frame is UV treated polypropylene resin, so it will not rust, rot or need painting, and it can stay by the pool through summer and winter alike. Chlorine and salt do not trouble it.

The sling is a breathable synthetic that dries quickly after rain or a wet swimmer, and it is fully replaceable. A tired lounger is a sling swap rather than a new lounger.

Recline Positions and Wheels

Both models recline through four positions, from sitting up to read through to flat. The positions are set by hand at the back of the lounger.

Both also carry two built in wheels at one end. Tilt the lounger and it rolls, so following the shade around a pool through an afternoon does not involve lifting anything.

Alfa vs Omega

Alfa has armrests. They make getting in and out easier, which matters for older users and for anyone using the lounger as a chair as much as a bed. Omega is armless, so the clean profile tucks closer to a pool edge, sits tighter in a row and stacks more compactly.

The rule. Choose Alfa where people get in and out often or need the support. Choose Omega where loungers sit in a row, get stacked, or where the profile has to stay low.

Poolside Use, Cleaning and Storage

Both wipe clean with water and mild detergent, and neither needs covering. Sunscreen and body oils are what mark a sling, so a rinse at the end of a hot week is worth doing.

If loungers are stored over winter, Omega stacks in less space. Allow for that when working out how many will fit in the shed.

How to Choose Alfa or Omega Loungers

Step 1. Decide on arms. That is the whole choice between the two models.

Step 2. Count the pool edge. Allow the lounger length plus room to walk behind it.

Step 3. Choose the colour. White, Anthracite Trama, Tortora and Grigio, matched to the paving rather than the house.

Step 4. Buy in the right quantity. Sets of two and four cost less per lounger than singles, and three piece settings add a side table.
