Nardi Bora and Costa Range
Bora and Costa are two Nardi resin chair designs that sit alongside each other, each made as an armchair and as an armless bistrot chair. All four are single body mono bloc chairs that stack, so nothing works loose and nothing rusts.
The difference is the back: Bora is finely perforated so air and water pass through, Costa is lined and reads as the more solid of the two. Talk to our team about the chair count and we will check the stack height against your storage. Both come in the same colour family and both are sold singly and in sets of four, with settings on the Clip, Step, Spritz and Libeccio tables.

Nardi Bora & Costa Range - FAQs

-
What is the difference between the Bora and Costa chairs?
The difference is the back. Bora has a finely perforated back, which keeps the chair light and lets air and rainwater pass straight through it rather than pooling. Costa has a lined back, a solid shell with a ribbed profile, which reads as the more substantial of the two at the table. Both drain, both stack and both come in the same colour family, so the choice between them is a visual one rather than a technical one.
-
Should I choose the bistrot chair or the armchair?
Both Bora and Costa are made as an armchair and as an armless bistrot chair. The armchair is more comfortable for a long meal and gives the table more presence, particularly at the ends. The bistrot has no arms, so it tucks fully under the table and takes less width, which is how a courtyard fits more covers into the same floor area. Many buyers run bistrot chairs down the sides and put armchairs at each end.
-
Do Bora and Costa chairs stack?
Yes, all four versions stack, and that is a large part of why these chairs end up in venues rather than only in homes. Stacking means chairs clear off a courtyard quickly at close and go back out in the morning without a struggle. Work out the stack height against your actual storage before ordering in quantity, because a stack of forty chairs is considerably taller than most people picture when they are looking at one chair.
-
What are they made from?
Both are single body mono bloc chairs, moulded in one piece from UV resistant polypropylene resin. Because there are no joints, screws or welds anywhere in the chair, there is nothing to work loose, nothing to rust and nothing that needs re-tightening, which is why the design survives commercial handling. They are made in Italy, resist atmospheric pollutants, and are non toxic and antistatic. Each carries the Nardi recyclable resin trademark, so a chair is recycled whole at end of life.
-
How heavy are they?
They are light, which is one of the practical reasons venues choose them. The Bora armchair is 4.4kg and the Costa Bistrot is 3.9kg, so a staff member can carry several at once and a stack moves easily on a trolley. That low weight is also worth thinking about on an exposed balcony or rooftop, where light chairs will move in strong wind and may need bringing in rather than being left out overnight.
-
Can I order Bora or Costa in quantity for a venue?
Yes. Outdoor Furniture Ideas supplies Bora and Costa in quantity to cafes, pubs, clubs and function venues, where stackability and a low unit weight matter more than almost anything else. Trade accounts are available with volume pricing. Our team will confirm colour availability across the full chair count before a floor is committed, and can quote the chairs together with the Clip, Step, Spritz or Libeccio tables they are sold in settings with.
