Outdoor Bar Stools
Outdoor bar stools sit at height, in full sun, and take daily commercial load, and the wrong specification fails quickly in Australian conditions. Outdoor Furniture Ideas stocks a full range for cafes, pubs, hotel pool bars and home entertaining areas: UV-stabilised polypropylene bar stools, powder-coated aluminium stools, and CATAS-certified Nardi options in both 65 cm (mini/counter height) and 76 cm (standard bar height) seat heights.
For commercial venues, our Nardi bar stools are certified to EN 581 contract grade by CATAS, independently tested for structural load, fatigue cycles and UV weathering, with load ratings up to 160 kg. Trade accounts and bulk pricing available for hospitality fitouts and commercial specifiers requiring volume orders.

Outdoor Bar Stools - FAQs

-
What seat height do I need?
Measure from the floor to the underside of the counter, not the top, and allow roughly 250mm to 300mm of clearance to the seat. Nardi supplies two heights: a mini at 65cm for counter height joinery and a standard at 76cm for a full bar.
-
What happens if I order the wrong seat height?
A stool 100mm out of range is unusable rather than merely uncomfortable, and it cannot be adjusted afterwards. This is the specification most often ordered wrong, which is why seat height is stated on every listing.
-
Which shapes are available?
Nardi covers the Net, Trill, Lido and Faro shapes in both heights. Siesta and Parisian supply the folding and metal framed alternatives, and the Cuba adds a timber seat on an aluminium frame.
-
Are these stools suitable for permanent outdoor use?
The resin models are. They are UV stabilised, take a hose and have no finish to maintain. Timber seated models want a covered position rather than full exposure.
-
Do the stools have a footrest?
Yes. A footrest is not optional at 76cm seat height, because without one people cannot sit comfortably for more than a few minutes. Every stool in this range has one.
-
Are outdoor bar stools stackable?
Most resin models stack. Stack height is stated on the individual listings, and it is worth checking against your actual storage rather than assuming.
-
How stable are bar stools?
A bar stool is the least stable furniture in a venue because the centre of mass sits high. A wider foot ring or base spread is worth choosing over a narrower one that looks neater, particularly in a venue serving alcohol late.
-
What tables do these stools match?
Bar height tables at the matching height, which are listed in the high bar tables category. Match the stool to the table height rather than the reverse, because table heights are less variable.
-
How do I clean them?
Warm water and a mild detergent, or a hose for anything worse. Avoid abrasive pads. Check the footrest fixings more often than the rest of the frame, because that is where shoe contact concentrates wear.
-
Can I use these stools indoors?
Yes. Nothing restricts them to outdoors, and using the same stool inside and out is a common way to tie a venue together visually.
-
Do you supply in commercial quantities?
Yes, these ranges are stocked for venue fit outs. Contact our team for volume availability and lead times on a specific colour and seat height.
