Heavy Duty Solid Steel Outdoor Umbrella Base 48 x 48cm

Most umbrellas that blow over do it because the base underneath them was chosen on price. This one is a 48 x 48cm plate in 10mm solid steel weighing 20kg, which is a genuinely heavy footing rather than a hollow shell filled with sand, and it is the reason the umbrella above it stays where you put it when the afternoon breeze comes through.

The plate is finished in matt black powder coat, and the upright that takes the umbrella pole is 304 grade stainless steel, also powder coated black. It is adjustable to suit poles of either 3.8cm or 4.8cm diameter, and the 4.8cm setting is the one that fits the Billy Fresh umbrella range. Steel and stainless steel together is a full outdoor specification, so the base can be left out through the season. It carries a one year warranty.

Care and cleaning

Wipe the base over with warm water and a mild detergent and dry it off. Do not use abrasive pads or solvent based cleaners on the powder coat. Rinse it with fresh water more often near salt water, and keep the pole socket clear of grit so the umbrella pole seats properly.

The base is sold on its own. Umbrellas are sold separately. Match the base to how exposed the position is, and close the umbrella whenever the weather turns.
