Pebl Tolo 2 Seater Aluminium Outdoor Sofa
The Pebl Tolo 2 Seater is the compact sofa in the Tolo collection, 166 cm across and 128 cm deep, designed by Robin Delaere for balconies, courtyards and smaller outdoor lounge areas that still want a proper piece of furniture rather than a scaled down one.
What makes Tolo unusual is the Pebl Flex Seating System built into the backrest. In its regular position you get an upright, structured seat that suits conversation and entertaining. Flip the backrest and the seat becomes deeper and lower, for reading or settling in with a drink. Move the cushions again and it opens out into a daybed style surface to stretch out on. It is one sofa that covers three ways of sitting, rather than committing you to one.
The frame is powder coated aluminium, strong but comparatively light, and it will not rust on a terrace or a balcony. Seat and back cushions carry the main comfort, and two loose accent pillows can be repositioned for lumbar, side or head support in whichever configuration you are using.
Tolo balances a restrained architectural frame against deep cushioning and tactile rope detail, which is what keeps it from reading as either too soft or too severe.
